MLG Dallas – The Astro A40s Shine Again
Well folks, it almost goes without saying these days – if you’re serious about gaming you’re wearing Astro A40’s. For the third straight event, all three championship teams took down their titles with the help of their Astros. And in fact, seven of the top eight teams were wearing Astros and from my count, 16 out of the top 24 Halo3, Gears and Rainbow teams were all Astro clad as well ….that was until Turtle Beach threatened to pull sponsorships when they noticed that some of “their” teams were using our headsets. Oops. Nice try Turtle Beach, maybe next year.
Congrats to Triggers Down for their second Halo3 championship of the season -winning in 11 games over Str8 Rippin in a ridiculously close match. Also congrats to Legendz for surviving through the Open Bracket and locking up that eighth and final spot for the Vegas Finals.
In the Rainbow 6 Las Vegas 2 tournament, little known Iconz came out of nowhere to win the Open Brackets and rode that momentum all the way through the finals. And in the Gears of War world, Infinity won a nail biter of an 11-map series to take down the GOW title – which was promptly followed by a mini-brawl amongst a couple of hot-headed fans.
Once again another great event put on by the MLG.
