To be honest the headset seems great and all but for 150, it should have more of a variety of colors. The fact it's wired and is compatible to all systems but can't include more than two colors is disappointing. Just saying I think it's a good headset but it would be more eye catching if you added more to it.

Great for What It Is

I may not be a specialist on the science of audio but I tried my best in educating myself on it from reading a few articles and experiencing the three types of headphones in a Audiophile Experts shop where I believe I realized that, in comparison of; closed-back, semi-open, and open-back headphones, semi is the best because the sound is more sharp, detailed and the cushions were more comfortable and light. (At least from those three headphones I experienced), The closed back was always the lesser of the three in sound quality. The open-back vibrated my body/brain too much which I didn't like. In any case, my point is basically that, I believe the Astro A40 TR's for the PS4 are great for what they are, ultimately for a closed-back headphone, and for the limit of the PS4. ... In detail; I figured that the numbers, specs, etc. is subjective. That's what a lot of the experts repeated. The power of the PS4 can only support so much power. And most importantly, surround sound for headphones is bullshit. ... Logically, you can't truly produce more than two angles in two ear transmitters, that is a headphone, so why waste money in buying that virtually. True surround sound is with speakers, which can be more than four speakers. If I were to buy a headphone next time, I'll buy a semi-open version. But I wanted a headset with a mic, so I bought this. Speaking of the mic. It's noise cancellation isn't great. I can hear my subtle breathing loudly in my streams which is annoying but for parties it's pretty good. Not for streaming though, but you can just buy a better wireless mic. Finally, the quality itself of audio is very good. For what it is. I can hear every detail and background audio very clearly. The comfort isn't the best though, although it may be slightly subjective. I've used it for a few months now. I work as a video game tester and have it around my neck or head for several hours. It's uncomfortable and bad on the neck and a little tense on the shoulders. Slightly heavy on my head and neck sometimes, but it's fine with a pillow in the back of my head. Other than that, it's ok on the ears. Not the best cushions. ... As for the mixamp, that goes back to creating redundant virtual surround sound to a device that isn't made for it, it's useless. I believe it's a waste of money if you're only a couch PS4 gamer/streamer. And so, I think overall I give it a 7.5/10 or a 8/10.
